Call me crazy but this works.

If I told you that lying on the floor for 20 min a day would change your life you’d probably call me crazy.
You might say something like, well running on the treadmill for 20 min a day will probably also change my life and I wouldn’t argue with that.
This is different.
So, so different.
✨
A few years ago I was sitting on a park bench with some fellow students of my Yoga Nidra training when someone pulled out their phone and said:
Oh my God, the Google CEO is doing Yoga Nidra, look…
She pointed the screen at the rest of us with a Business Insider headline that read:
“Google CEO Sundar Pichai says he uses NSDR, or 'non-sleep deep rest,' to unwind. Here's what it is and how it works.”
We all chuckled at the fact that the article called it NSDR, as if its readers weren’t ready to be calling it “Yoga” and accept that this is indeed not a new discovery but has been known and taught through this ancient philosophy for thousands of years.
But let that be another bone for me to pick.
Remember how I’ve told you about having anxiety?
It was really bad in my late teens and early 20s. I’d walk around with anxiety attacks that would last for days sometimes, feeling like I was chased by this invisible threat.
My nervous system was convinced I would probably die any second now and how I got out of them, or how I even managed to function is beyond me today. I remember sitting in meetings with sweaty palms, a racing heart, shooting thoughts and a shallow breath but if anyone asked (no one asked, I was very good at hiding it) I would, of course, say: I’m fine.
Fine.
The 4 letter magic that runs our lives.
Have you said you’re fine before when really you could not be further away from fine?
Or maybe you didn’t exactly know what you were in that moment but fine sure as hell wasn’t it?
And, you know what happens when you’re fine for too long without doing anything about it?
You’re tired.
Exhausted.
And then, if you’re like me you tell yourself:
I just have to sleep it off, I’ll be alright.
But at some point not even sleep helped me anymore. I remember this thought I had like it was yesterday:
Of course sleep doesn’t do anything for me, it’s like I’m sleeping in an open tent in the middle of a jungle just waiting for some tiger to come and attack me. WHO WOULD FEEL RESTED AFTER THAT?
Obviously I wasn’t in a jungle.Obviously I was safe.Obviously nothing was wrong.
But my nervous system was wired to believe it was. It made me live in a constant state of alarm.
No, this is not where I tell you that I found Yoga Nidra and we lived happily ever after.
This is where I tell you that I realized I needed to rewire my nervous system for safety.
A whole other journey began (maybe I should write a book about it) that eventually led me to, yes, Yoga Nidra - a guided relaxation, usually in the form of someone guiding you personally or a recording.
So back to the training - that’s where I learned what and how people have been using this practice for….
One guy felt paralyzed by his constant overthinking loops until he started practicing Yoga Nidra.
A woman was stuck in her business, unsure of what to do - sell or not to sell, once she settled her nervous system she sold her business for exactly the price she’d dreamed of.
Someone else actually used it to quit smoking.
And then of course there was the Google CEO, using it to get through a busy day — here’s the link to that article btw
Here’s the thing.
When I said it might just change your life, I meant it.
Not because it just helps you relax but because it rewires your brain.
(This is where I would normally give you a whole speech about different brainwave states and how Yoga Nidra lets you dip into this unique "hypnagogic" state between waking and sleeping, sometimes called Psychic Sleep, ideal for profound rest and subconscious processing, but I won’t - unless you ask of course, which you can… right here. 😉)
My teacher back then used to say: it’s like cleaning out the basement, you declutter your subconsciousness.
A process, if done with a clear direction, lets you then fill that space with the things you’ve always wanted.
And that, is why I created Nidra Reset.
A personalized Yoga Nidra session, just for you.
No generic live, love, laugh messages but a uniquely designed Yoga Nidra recording to direct you exactly to where you want to go.
Because that’s what theta and delta brainwaves do - linked to healing, creativity and profound physical and nervous system repair - accessing them during this practice (which you inevitably will) structurally changes your brain, for the better.
I personally kind of felt like that 2025 was a year that needs some, uhm digestion?
Well this is a way to do that.
A Nidra Reset is a 90 min. 1:1 session with me where we’ll explore what part of your life calls for rewiring, after which I will guide you into a Yoga Nidra, weaving in your core messages for deep rest and to activate potentials you didn’t know you had.
And if this has left you with more questions than answers as to how to start this year… reach out with those too!
Love,Mel💕
